Valedictorian Speeches (B2D)

Valedictorian or graduation speech is a farewell speech given at a graduation ceremony. It was my intention to ask each one of you to prepare one to give during the third term. Alas, the COVID 19 pandemic put an end to my plans. It will be a virtual farewell instead.

I'd like you to take some time to reflect on these past few years at school and to think about what you'd like to say to your classmates and teachers if you had the chance. Think back and try to recapture those moments which will stay with you for ever, your very first day, all the good and bad memories ...  You are about to embark on a new adventure, so you might also like to talk about your hopes for the future. But don't panic! It does not have to be a formal speech, just a few thoughts and memories.
  • Send me an audio or video recording (Deadline Tuesday 26th)

PROJECT:Comparing Countries B1F B2D

The Coronavirus Pandemic: How does the situation in Spain compare to that in other countries?

In this project you are going to compare the situation in Spain to the situation in another country.

Choose an English speaking country, read and watch the news about that country for a few days.

Then choose one or more aspects and compare them with what is happening in Spain.

Here are some ideas:

  • How do the two countries compare or differ in their response to the coronavirus pandemic?
  • Problems they face
  • Economic impact
  • People's responses, initiatives...
  • Impact on domestic and international politics
  • Media coverage
  • Your own ideas

Work in groups  of three. Once you have done your research, write an article of about 250 words comparing the two countries. You must also do a brief presentation to the rest of the group.

Deadlines:
Written article:  May 4th
Presentations: B2D starting May 5th       B1F starting May 8th
